Cyclical Care for Cyclical Bodies

Menstrual Cycle Health has been pretty buzzworthy these days. Just like any other hot button topic on social media, it can be confusing to find out what we’re “supposed” to do for our health. Especially when the medical doctors who treat us are so quick to prescribe the pill and send us on our way.

The truth is, we never learned about anything other than the stuff they scare you with (STDs, lies about pregnancy). We never learned that our hormones change constantly over the course of our cycle, and that those changes affect not only our energy levels, but our mood, our creativity, our ability to communicate, our resilience, libido, and more. We sure as hell never learned that our menstrual cycle is technically our fifth vital sign. This means to understand our overall picture of health, we must understand our cycles.

I was finally diagnosed with PMDD (Pre Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder) in 2020, after bringing my own research and findings to my obgyn. After years of debilitating mood swings, anxiety and depression, horrible migraines and an honest belief that I had a split personality disorder, I started tracking my cycle and discovering the patterns. I learned about balancing my blood sugar and productive rest, along with so many more simple and holistic things that slowly but surely alleviated ALL of my pre-menstrual challenges.

The journey was pretty hard and lonely, for me, and that’s why I became a Menstrual Cycle Coach. Consider me a navigator and friend to go on the journey with you, as you discover the power of your period and learn to live with more flow.
